We like when people send us things, like records, sunglasses, snacks, love letters, fan mail, and photos. We’re not greedy, we just appreciate free stuff, okay? If we’re into what you send, like if it makes us laugh or cry or dance or smile or reminisce about how fucked up (in a good way) we felt during that one break up when our pillows were damp and discolored by non-waterproof mascara for three whole months, it’s possible that we’ll post it. See how this works? Mutually beneficial. This is “High & Dry” shot by (who sounds intriguing and artistic just from her name alone), and it’s all gritty and fucked up and kind of recklessly romantic, just the way we prefer it. It’s an eerie coincidence that Lou Reed left this world yesterday, and I didn’t notice until just now, literally right as I was posting this, that in one of her photos someone is wearing a Lou Reed T-shirt. What does it all mean? We’ll probably never know. While you’re contemplating, let the gaping vastness be punctuated by some red wine and menthol cigarettes and enjoy these photos and absorb the feeling that even if we’re destined to be alone we’ll always have words, pictures and music to make us feel a little less so.
K. Eleanor Bleier prefers to be called by her middle name, enjoys gas station snack food (specifically Combos), and has a tattoo on the back of her leg that she really wants to cover up because it was given to her by a dude she used to hang out with and she’s pretty sure he makes voodoo dolls of her now.
